Where Does The NVQ Assessment Take Place?

The assessment for your Plastering NVQ all takes place while you are at work. One of our fully qualified assessors will come out and visit you on site. OSAT NVQs have a great advantage over other NVQs as you are not required to miss any work to get your qualification.

How Long Does It Take To Complete An NVQ?

Exactly how long the whole process takes will depend on a number of factors such as the NVQ you are doing and your payment method.

What Is Required Before I Take The NVQ in Plastering?

There are no formal requirements but we recommend that you have all of the skills necessary to complete the units you will sit.

What Is Involved In The Plastering NVQ?

You will be expected to show your skill and competence in the mandatory and optional units of the Plastering NVQ you take.

Solid Plastering NVQ Level 2 (Show All Units)

You will be assessed on your skills and competence in the following mandatory units:

  • Conforming to General Safety in the Workplace
  • Conforming to Efficient Working Practices in the Workplace
  • Moving and Handling Resources in the Workplace
  • Producing Internal Solid Plastering Finishes in the Workplace
  • Producing External Solid Render Finishes in the Workplace

You must also choose one of the following optional units:

  • Applying Finishing Plaster to Background Surfaces in the Workplace
  • Installing Direct Bond Dry Linings in the Workplace
  • Laying Sand and Cement Screeds to Levels and/or Falls in the Workplace
  • Applying Projection Plaster and Maintaining Equipment in the Workplace
  • Installing Mechanically Fixed Plasterboard in the Workplace

You also have additional units which do not account for any credits in this qualification:

  • Producing Cement Castings in the Workplace

What If I Fail Units In The Plastering NVQ?

If you fail units during your Plastering NVQ you just have to be reassessed. You may also take extra units to make up the amount of credits you need to pass the NVQ.

Level 3 Plastering NVQ
