Birmingham was selected for a £40 million redevelopment that is promising the creation of construction jobs by the hundreds. The project was announced at the MPIM event in France. One part of the plans includes a new ICT village to be constructed at Birmingham Science Park which will consist of four buildings. The total space created will be about 10,000m sq. and 4280 m sq. at the main part.
Along with the announcement of this project, several others were announced at the MPIM event as well. Even the City Council of Birmingham announced its plans in the hopes of bringing awareness and attracting those who could potentially invest. Mike Whitby, the council leader stated that the Science Park has the potential to truly become a major contributor to Birmingham’s goal of becoming a centre for innovation.
